In the world of conceptual art, the concepts of bright future and natural connection are worlds apart, but together they form the inspirational Wattyl colour palettes for 2020...and we are loving what this coming together of styles has produced!
Wattyl's new colour palettes for 2020 are comprised of a collection of 12 timeless schemes split into two distinct directions - Bright Future and Natural Connection.
"While the rise of the digital culture has made it difficult to distinguish what is real and what is virtual, there is still the desire to borrow from the more simple times of the past," acknowledges Sarah Stephenson, Wattyl's Colour and Design Expert.
"We are moving forward, whilst looking back, the digital and the natural are so close - and yet worlds apart!"
Natural Connection aspires to the palpability of the organic, and the reconnection with our natural environment is embodied in the palette. It defines abstract layering of earthy, mineral hues, textures of surfaces and sustainable, authentic materials.
"There is a growing focus on artificial and digital tones that pop on screen as much as they do in real life. The Youthful, tech brights of Bright Future create the feeling of an art installation," said Sarah Stephenson.
"Our homes become sanctuaries with a priority for calm and comfort. The harmony mid-tone colours creates a calming, cozy environment," Sarah Stephenson.
The Bright Future palette features highly saturated colour - bright, deep and bold - and creates a flair of vibrancy and drama in a space defined by contemporary forms and modern materials.
The 2020 Colour Palettes are available in Wattyl's ultra-premium I.D interior ultra-low VOC paints - Contemporary MAtt, Luxury Low Sheen, Silky and Advanced Low Sheen. The collection is available nationally at Wattyl Paint Centres and selected Mitre 10 Home Timber Hardware.
