Life & Business with Heidi

Some of you may know me as the founder of The Life Style Edit. Some of you may not know me at all. My journey to date has been nothing special. It is just my journey, but everything in my life has led me to this

moment.



Recently I decided it was time to put myself out there and offer my experience up to other business owners, to be the person on the sideline assisting with the day-to-day, in helping to get clear on the next steps and the next direction to go, to put order in the chaos and push them a little bit closer to what they want to achieve.


Throughout my career, I have faced various challenges and overcome them with resilience and determination. These experiences have equipped me with valuable insights and practical strategies that I can share with aspiring business owners. I constantly strive to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements and I am committed to fostering nurturing and collaborative environments and relationships, where individuals can thrive and realize their full potential.


There are certain things that I use every day to manage all the things I have to and need to get done so I thought I'd share a few of them here to see if they can assist you too.


  1. Make time every day just for me. Whether it's a run, swim, walk, or coffee. This is a non-negotiable If I am not getting this, my day is out of whack and it just doesn't work. Early mornings work for me, I am down the beach before the sun rises, it's amazing the impact this can have, find your time and take it then. It's this time that I have that allows things to bubble to the surface that I need to address, I have ideas, I weigh things up and I get to push my body to see what it can (still) do and I always feel amazing afterwards. As my training team says "You never regret showing up"

2. Affirmations. The perfect way to reshape my thinking. Depending on what I am focussing on I will create some affirmations to reinforce my thinking and create a new belief. Choose ones that resonate with you and speak into the positive. You can choose your own affirmation for each day and repeat it to yourself over and over throughout your day. Pop it on a post-it note on the fridge, program them into your calendar on your phone to send you reminders, whatever it takes to keep your thinking focused and on track.

Examples of some affirmations you could use :


I attract abundance everywhere I go

I am a magnet for money

I trust in the process of life.

I give and receive love easily and effortlessly.

I am open to receiving

I can do anything.

I make choices that are good for me.


3. Do something you love doing or rediscover something you loved to do. That's easier to do for some, I don't have restrictions of little kids at home that I need to take care of these days so I have more time available to me when work is done. If you can make some time to do something new, be adventurous, or reconnect with someone you haven't seen in forever, then do it, it's amazing what this can do for your well-being and happiness. I recently played some golf, I was rubbish at it, but I was inspired enough to be curious to try it again to see if I could do it better and I had a lot of laughs in the process.


These are just some of the things I am committed to in my days, they aren't directly related to what I do in my business but they make a big difference to how I approach my business and the clarity I have when I am working.


When my well-being is prioritised and taken care of, I become equipped with the strength, clarity, and resilience needed to effectively manage my business and make sound choices. A healthy body and mind provide the foundation for my success, allowing me to navigate the challenges and demands of entrepreneurship with confidence and balance. By maintaining physical wellness through exercise, proper nutrition, and sufficient rest, and positive thinking I enhance my energy levels and overall productivity.


Similarly, nurturing my mental and emotional wellbeing through practices like mindfulness and self-care enables me to maintain focus, creativity, and emotional intelligence. When I am in a state of well-being, I am better equipped to handle stress, problem-solve, and make informed decisions that benefit both my business and myself. Ultimately, by prioritising my well-being, I establish a solid framework that allows me to thrive professionally and personally.
