What are the benefits of using a wick trimmer?

Trimming the wick before each burn will encourage a cleaner, more even burn whilst eliminating soot. Before re-lighting your candle, it's best to trim the wicks down to 5mm and ensure they are stood upright. By trimming the wicks you will reduce the chance of smoking and decrease the chance of mushrooming.

But what is mushrooming?

Mushrooming is basically a build-up of excess carbon, this can happen if the wick is wrongly sized for the candle. It occurs when there is too much wax on the wick to be burned, which causes the partially-reduced molecules to build-up on the end of the wick.

How can I prevent tunnelling?

Your Palm Beach Collection Candle only needs to burn at a maximum of 3 hours at a time, and 2 hours for the minis. But it's always best to let your candle burn for at least 1 hour to prevent tunnelling.
