ART TAKES THE FLOOR, WITH THE IKEA ART EVENT, 2019

Presenting a new collection of woven artworks from eight world renowned designers including Virgil Abloh, Filip Pagoswki and Misaki Kawai, the IKEA Art Event 2019 is back and brings with it a modern outlook to the traditional art of rug making.

This will be the fifth IKEA Art Event and showcases a short-term collection of contemporary rugs. You’ll find a mesh of tapestry art, rug handicraft, avant-garde fashion and street culture as well as modern design.

IKEA Art Event 2019 invites you to hit the floor, daring you to blur the lines between art, fashion, handicraft and expressive home furnishing. And due to popular demand, the highly sort after “KEEP OFF” rug designed by Men’s Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton and the Founder of fashion brand Off-White, Virgil Abloh, will be first available to IKEA Family members via a ballot, which is now open.

Make sure to check out the full Art Event 2019 from the 15th of May 2019.

The full rug collection will also be available in stores, with the exception of the “KEEP OFF” rug.
