Give us your elevator pitch?
Who are you and what do you do? We are an entertainment and information platform for all things to do with the house and home with an E-commerce bespoke homewares range to raise money for our chosen charities. I am a retired 60 years young interior designer that has turned her interior design platform into a not-for-profit, designing, creating, and collaborating a homewares range to raise money and awareness for my charity partners. I am also sharing my knowledge on interior decorating and designing with a touch of life experiences with our followers and soon sharing my journey into building our dream home in Portsea for our semi-retirement #guttedtogreat on YouTube.
How did the business come about?
In 2020 when our first lockdown happened, I decided to retire from doing interior design work. I had just turned 60 years young, our plans for a 3month holiday to Europe were canceled due to the Pandemic.
So I began to think about what was my next journey in life, what I wanted to achieve and do and that’s when my passion for giving back kicked in, it was time to give back to some grassroots charities and communities and work with charities that touched my soul and my ethos.
T-House was then born in September 2020 with our first product and big event for EatUp Australia which got massive media coverage on Channel Nine news. We began with a bang!
Best career advice you have ever received? Work Hard and then when you think you are working hard work harder! Follow your passion and you will never feel like you work a day in your life and you will be driven to succeed.
Worst advice you have ever received?
You can't do that, it's not possible, you will never achieve that goal. Stay in your lane, you are too old for that!
What is one thing we should invest in for our business?
Good smart people that are exceptional at their jobs
What is one thing you wish you had known when starting your business? How long it will take to build a website! Shop around and do your research on web development.
What is your favorite part of your day-to-day? At work, it is creating and designing products and making styling videos and I love to shop… In my personal life, cooking for my family.
What was an unexpected joy of creating your business? The amazing feedback from our charities and how we have already created awareness for what they do and being a part of the positive change
Leave us with some words of wisdom? That you are never too old to follow a dream or a passion, we all have a gift and it's our job to explore and find it within us and bring it to life.
Our gift is our purpose in life, it doesn’t have a time limit nor does it have to change the world, it just makes you a happier human being, the meaning of life is to then share that gift with the world.
