For something warmer...
If you're missing in summer and in desperate need of your sunny fix - Byron Bay is calling your name. Situated up the coast, this sunny haven is the ultimate homegrown escape from the cold without having to leave the state (just!). Whether your overseas summer holiday was postponed or you're simply looking to get out of town for a few days, Byron Bay might just be the warm week away that you need. This sunny coastal town is located at the top of NSW and is definitely road trip material. This beauty of a town definitely clocks up the kilometres though, so you'll need to dedicate some time to getting there! If you've got some extra leave on your hands, splitting the drive up over a couple of days is a great way to get some quality time in with some friends or family, and might just be the change of scenery you need.
For something cooler...
The South Coast is never a bad idea, especially when you've been locked in your house for so long! It might not be quite warm enough to brave the ocean, but it looks just as beautiful whether you're wearing swimmers or jeans! Light the fire and relax with some loved ones or that special someone and escape the city for the weekend - even better, bring an empty esky and support local business! Not only is this a great way to clear your head and switch up your scenery, we're sure the local restaurants and stores will appreciate your business - especially after the fires.
For something closer...
If you don't have as much time on your hands or are simply just looking to stay a bit closer to home, the Blue Mountains is an easy drive with beautiful views. Enjoy a hike during the day and then settle in on the couch with your favourite glass of wine and enjoy the serenity. It might not be the warm holiday you had in mind, but it definitely won't disappoint - different doesn't always mean worse!
What better reason to get away than weeks of being stuck at home? With an empty car, you can support local businesses all over and truly spread the love - so grab your nearest and dearest and get planning!
