NEXT DESTINATION: THE MALDIVES

Crystal blue water, waking up to the sound of the waves, watching the sun rise and set over the beautiful Indian ocean, spending quality time with your loved ones in eco-friendly luxury...sounds like a dream!

The next destination to tick off our (ever growing) travel list is none other than the STUNNING Maldives, as world-leading luxury resorts operator, Soneva, is launching Soneva Fushi’s first overwater villas in April 2020.

“We are very proud to announce this exciting new phase of Soneva Fushi,” said Sonu Shivdasani, founder and CEO of Soneva.

As a part of the new development, there will be eight brand new one- and two-bedroom ultra-private villas. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi has a strong focus on sustainability. The thing we love the most? Baa Atoll's terrestrial and marine ecosystems remain unharmed by the new overwater villas - even the construction materials have been sourced sustainably.

“When we first launched Soneva Fushi back in 1995, we redefined tourism in the Maldives with our unique vision that pioneered the concept of sustainable luxury.” Sonu Shivdasani

Sonu Shivdasani is definitely not wrong...! The luxury begins from the minute you arrive on the island, where you are surrounded by friendly staff, incredible dining options, and wellness experiences. To top it all off, you will be escorted to your overwater villa via jetty, either at sunrise or sunset.

Once you've arrived at your villa, prepare to be blown away by the amazing space. Each includes a large alfresco deck with a sunken seating area and catamaran nets over the ocean, an upper level with a dining area and day bed, plus Soneva's signature open-air bathroom with direct access to the sea. The bedrooms are spacious and with a king-sized bed in the master bedroom. In keeping with the resorts enviro-conscious theme, the furniture is from sustainably-sourced materials - from driftwood, to crisp white linens. Slide into the Indian Ocean from your private slide, or take a dip in your very own pool.

Well, we're sold...! To experience your very own ultimate hideaway, visit the Soneva Fushi Resort website.
