We sat down with the masterminds behind this breathtaking project to pick their brains about the building process and the inspiration behind it, as well as gain some insight into the kind of experience a property like this has to offer.

[TLSE] Tell us a bit about yourself/selves - who is the team behind The Ridge Nelson Bay?

[The Ridge Team] The Ridge Nelson Bay is a family entity, consisting of a brother-sister partnership. We are busy behind the scenes, planning ahead for the future.

What was your journey up until this point - how did you find yourselves building a brand new luxury holiday

property?

Working, saving and planning for the future led to a decision to build a luxury property - with hopefully more to come.

Why Nelson Bay?

Upon searching for unique real estate, we came across a block of land with views east facing out to the headlands located in Nelson Bay, Port Stephens NSW. It fortunately met our property search criteria, that of decent land size over 1,200 sqm, in a quiet cul-de-sac, bushland surrounds and views of the water. We were instantly captivated by the uniqueness and exclusivity of the surrounds, specifically the elevated views of over 120m above sea level. Port Stephens has so many unique and beautiful places to explore so our goal was to make it ours and turn it into a reality.

What were your musts when designing the property? What design principles did you follow?

The key factors when designing the property consisted of privacy and expansive entertainment and living areas

complemented with an industrial and minimalist style. The Ridge, a luxury holiday home built by Greenbuild Constructions, has been designed to make the most of its elevated position and the views of the landscape. Full credit goes to our builder, Kain, and his in-house architect, Riz, whom created a design to suit our brief and pushed the boundaries with respect to design innovation.

What did you look for when choosing companies to work with?

Our priority was finding a building company that took the time out to understand our brief and was professional.

Greenbuild Constructions exceeded our expectations and continues to go above and beyond in making The Ridge a

reality.

What does a day on-site look like?

A day onsite involves careful thought on execution to ensure everything continues to run smoothly.

Have there been any disasters so far? How did you overcome them?

No, luckily!

What is your absolute favourite feature of the design that you can’t wait to see come to life?

We couldn’t possibly pick one! There are many features of the design that will be revealed in due course. The

personalised smart home living and the superbly executed off-formed concrete pool are set to be a few draw cards for guests to engage in ultimate luxury during their stay at The Ridge.

Who do you hope will be staying there? Is there a particular way you’d like for them to experience it?

The Ridge is designed in such a way so that it can be used all year round for guests mainly consisting of couples and families. It will be a spectacular private venue that can be used for photoshoots and location hire, retreats, conferences, weddings as well as many other significant milestones in people’s lives.
