FLOWER POWER! WITH FLOWER CONTRIBUTORS, HAMBLINS
BLOOM. BLOOM. BLOOM.
LET’S GO BACK TO MY ROOM….
In the words of electronic band Depeche Mode, we just can’t get enough!
We’re opening our hearts and getting into the groove for a huge resurgence of 80s blooms. Carnations, chrysanthemums, baby’s breath, and dried foliages and flowers to name a few.
Just like a Madonna reinvention, these big hitters are doing it in style. Crazy for hue and texture we’re thanking our lucky stars that these new and absolutely gorgeous varieties are climbing the charts again. Full of style and grace they could easily be seen on the cover of a magazine.
Time after time we’re expressing ourselves in store with big, dusty-coloured chrysanthemums, nude and blush carnations, and the innocently creamy baby’s breath always takes our breath away. Dried flowers and tropical foliages are another endless love with fan palms and hydrangea being our faves right now. We love our 80s blooms en masse, but you’ll also find that they’re great as part of a compilation album too.
No one-hit wonders here. These divine flowers actually have a very long vase life. They’re more like the U2 of flowers, instead of The Knack, and they’ll last up to two weeks if cared for correctly. And the dried flowers and foliages will just keep on going on. A reason enough to be dancing on the ceiling and partying like it’s 1999!
So there you go; sweet dreams are made of these, as a total eclipse of the heart takes place in the floral scene!
